Accessing and Ranking All Single-Rider Lines at the Disneyland Resort

This past weekend I decided to check out all of single rider lines at the Disneyland Resort and show how to access each line for those who would like to utilize them. I then figured It'd be fun to rank them based on a few factors, namely Accessibility, Wait Time, and if the attraction experience is diminished by using the Single Rider Line.

All of that is in the video below, but I figured it'd also be useful to put that information in a blog post for quick reference. So here we go!!

Monsters Incorporated: Mike and Sully To The Rescue

Picture
We're going to start off with the Single Rider Line that's not technically a single rider line, but has a buddy pass which acts as kind of a single rider pass.

As you can see from the card, you don't get an individual seat, but an entire row. So for this one you can have 2 people on each pass, which makes it a bit different. You must get a buddy pass from the Cast Member at the entrance of the attraction and then you head up to the exit. Keep in mind, the buddy pass on this attraction is not always available.

Accessibility = C - This is mainly due to the limited capacity for the Buddy Pass and having to get a card from the CM.
Wait = B - The wait is significantly reduced from the stand by line, especially with the way Lightning Lane has ruined the standby line for this attraction. But that's for another update.
Ride Experience = A - There is no change in the attraction if you utilize the single rider line.

web slingers: a spider-man adventure

Picture
Next up is Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure. This is an easily accessibly Single Rider line as it's right between the Standby and Lightning Lane entrance. The umbrellas that shade the Cast Members sometimes block the sign, but it is indeed there.
Picture
Once you are through the Single Rider line, you will arrive to the first waiting room and into the pre-show. So there is absolutely no change in the attraction by utilizing the single rider line.

One note for this attraction is that you have to utilize stairs to access the attraction, but I'm sure you can request an alternate route should you need it.

Accessibility = A - There are no issues accessing the single rider line as it is near the Stand-By line.
Wait = B - The wait is significantly reduced from the stand by line.
Ride Experience = A - There is no change in the attraction if you utilize the single rider line and you even get to experience the full pre-show.

Radiator Springs Racers

Now we come to what is in my opinion the best single rider line at the entire resort. Even on the busiest of days, the single rider line is a significant reduction from the stand-by line, there is no reduction in the attraction experience, and you even get to experience one of the best queues at the entire resort.
Picture
Just like with Spider-Man, sometimes the umbrellas block the Single Rider entrance sign, but just hang to the left at the main attraction entrance and you will have no problem at all.
Picture
Accessibility = A - There are no issues accessing the single rider line as it is near the Stand-By line. Just stay to your left.
Wait = A - The wait is significantly reduced from the stand by line and even on the busiest of days will only be about a 30 minute wait.
Ride Experience = A - There is no change in the attraction if you utilize the single rider line.

Incredicoaster

Moving over to Pixar Pier, we have The Incredicoaster. This single rider line is accessed via the ADA entrance just before you get to the main entrance of the attraction.

If you see a line up outside the single rider entrance, be warned that your wait is going to be quite long, and could possibly be the same length as the stand-by line. You may be better off just going through the regular line if there is a long line out here.

Picture
Once you reach the station, you will be given a card by the CM and have to go up and around utilizing the elevator to the loading platform. Overall it's a weird process, but not difficult to follow.
Picture
Accessibility = B - Due to the Single Rider entrance being far away from the main entrance, and using the ADA line to access, we're going to give the Accessibility a B. There is however no issues with stairs, etc.
Wait = B to C - Your mileage on this one can vary. On my visit it was quick and easy, but if it is a busy day and there is a line outside the entrance, you may be better off using the stand-by line.
Ride Experience = A - There is no change in the attraction if you utilize the single rider line.

Goofy's Sky School

The award for the shortest single rider line at the resort goes to Goofy's Sky School. I don't mean shortest in wait, but shortest in length. It comes up very quickly.
Picture
Basically just stay to the left as you approach the ride station, take a few stairs, and you're there.

Accessibility = A - There are no issues accessing the single rider line as it is near the Stand-By line. Just stay to your left. There are a few stairs here though.
Wait = B - The wait is significantly reduced from the stand by line.
Ride Experience = A - There is no change in the attraction if you utilize the single rider line.

Grizzly River Run

One of the most popular Single Rider lines at the resort belongs to Grizzly River Run, obviously in summer months and warm days it's much more popular. You have to get a card from the cast member at the entrance of the attraction and then you head up the exit to access the Single Rider line.
Picture
Accessibility = B to C - Due to needing to get a card from the CM at the entrance, and accessing through the exit, this one gets a B to C for accessibility. Especially when the attraction is busy, there are a lot of people near the exit.
Wait = B - The wait is significantly reduced from the stand by line, even on busy days.
Ride Experience = B - While the ride itself is no different from utilizing the Stand By or Lightning Lane, riding something like a rapids ride with strangers takes away a bit of the fun laughing at your friends and family when they get soaked.

Soarin' Around the world

Guess who's back? Back again? That's right, the Single Ride line for Soarin' is back, and it's amazing! Just like with Grizzly, you need to grab a card from the Cast Member at the entrance. They will then lead you to the right of the Lightning Lane where you will access the attraction.
Picture
You will then wait to the right of the line as shown below until called by the loading Cast Member.
Picture
Accessibility = B - Due to needing to get a card and be escorted into the attraction by a CM, this one get's a B.
Wait = A - The wait is significantly reduced from the stand by line, at least until people discover that this single rider line is back. Sorry. =)
Ride Experience = A - There is no change in the attraction if you utilize the single rider line.

Space Mountain

Let's head over to Disneyland, and a very popular single rider line. This one is accessed near the exit of the attraction, so instead of heading to the entrance to the left of Space Mountain, head to the right towards the Space Mountain restrooms.
Picture
I will say that this one can get a bit cramped as you head into the station, there is only some tape separating the stand-by line and the single rider line but it's overall a very easy experience.
Picture
Accessibility = B - Due to being on the opposite end of the entrance and having to deal with exiting crowds and a poorly marked dividing line, we'll give this one a B. Just bring your patience and you'll be okay.
Wait = A - The wait is significantly reduced from the stand by line.
Ride Experience = A - There is no change in the attraction if you utilize the single rider line.

Matterhorn Bobsleds

Another really great single rider line is Matterhorn Bobsleds. Like Space Mountain, the entrance is nowhere near the main entrance, but closer to the Fantasyland side of the attraction near the stroller parking. Basically right across from the Tea Cups.
Picture
Accessibility = B - Due to being away from the entrance, and not a whole lot of large signage, we'll give this one a B.
Wait = A - The wait is significantly reduced from the stand by line.
Ride Experience = A - There is no change in the attraction if you utilize the single rider line.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Finally we come to the last single rider line at the resort, and that's in Galaxy's Edge. We will say, out of all of the attractions at the resort, this one does have a significant reduction in the quality of the attraction using the single rider line.
Picture
You will always, always, ALWAYS get Engineer using the single rider line. Always. So if you're okay just pushing a few buttons in the back of the cockpit, then you're good to go.

Accessibility = A - This one has more signage than probably any other single rider line. Super easy to access. Just stay the the left at the main entrance. Be warned, for some reason this attraction has more confusion about lightning lane vs stand-by than any other. People love to gather at the entrance of this one.
Wait = A - The wait is significantly reduced from the stand by line.
Ride Experience = C - As mentioned above, in our opinion the attraction experience is diminished using the single rider line.

Alright everybody, that's going to wrap it up, we hope you enjoyed this look at the Single Rider lines at the resort.

We'll be back later today with an actual Disneyland update. Yep, two Disneyland updates in the same day and three Disneyland updates within the past week. What is going on around here!?!?! =)

Halloween Time 2022 at Disneyland Resort

Happy HalloweenTime everybody, we have our long anticipated (not really) update from our Disneyland visit last month.

And when I say last month, I truly mean it.

We visited Disneyland the opening weekend of Knott's Scary Farm, and just, well, we're not a Disneyland update site and it just kind of didn't get posted until I was going through pictures on my phone yesterday and said to myself "oh yeah, we have Disneyland Halloween pics".

We leave for vacation tomorrow so it was either today or never, so here you go.

Our original plan was to do 1 morning at Disneyland and then a full day/evening at DCA and Disneyland, unfortunately we were exhausted and didn't stick around for nighttime stuff. But we still have lots of great stuff to show you.

If I remember correctly, this was a super hot weekend

We'll have a lot of fun stuff for you over the next week and a half or so. We'll be doing some Toronto stuff on Thursday and Canada's Wonderland Haunt on Friday. Next week we get back to Universal Orlando Resort for the first time since 2006 (seriously) and our first ever visit to HHN Orlando (after at least 4 cancelled trips). And then next Saturday we have a day at Epcot, our first visit there since 2007 (yes, seriously). Stay tuned! - Gregg

July Return Trip to Disneyland Resort: Part 1 - Disney California Adventure

Picture
Last week we made our way back to the Disneyland Resort for our second Disney trip since the parks opened. We hadn't planned on making any return trips prior to the parks re-introducing some kind of Annual Pass program, but, well, it was a big couple of days for our family. Something I'll get into in the second half of this update later this week. In the meantime, enjoy Day 1 of our update at Disney California Adventure.

Be sure to check out our video comparing the parks from early June to late July below.

Welcome back to the Disneyland Resort. Much easier time getting through Security than in June. Still, Disneyland does need to improve their entry process.
