Walt Disney World: Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT update - February 3, 2021

Picture
Last week Renée made her first visit to WDW in awhile and sent some great pics of the goings on at Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

In addition, she had some amazing pics with Grogu, so if you missed Grogu's Day Out last week, be sure to check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Good morning from Disney’s Hollywood Studios! I haven’t been in this park since July, should be interesting!
Picture
And I haven’t been on RotR in over a year. Hopefully the ride is running smoothly today! It was my first time using the virtual queue from home.
Picture
Conquered Toy Story Land in less than an hour.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Kylo Ren and storm troopers looking down at guests in Galaxy’s Edge.
Picture
I love how WDW has recently stepped up their game with the vegetarian food options. Docking Bay 7 in Galaxy’s Edge has one of my favorites, the Felucian Kefta and hummus garden spread.
Picture
The character cavalcades are fun to see. The only thing that bugs me is as they approach, guests don’t care about distancing and get up right next to you at the last minute to see them.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
The park feels busy-ish but wait times for most rides are posted at 30-45 minutes and don’t take that long. Love Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway!
Picture
Picture
Rise of the Resistance was perfect. I hope I don’t have to wait another year till I get to ride it again.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
First time park hopping since last March, and also first time seeing these big guys.
Picture
Caught the Mickey and friends cavalcade.
Picture
Picture
I honestly didn’t know that the new area in France that recently opened is literally just bathrooms and bloggers looking through the wall.
Picture
Picture
It’s nice to see the arts represented once again for the fifth annual Festival of the Arts at Epcot. That animated little f**ker is back as the icon.
Picture
Picture
The Voices of Liberty are a must see when visiting Epcot. Great to see them on the big stage performing Disney songs for the Festival of the Arts.
Picture
Picture
I love the new storyline for Gran Fiesta Tour. Donald bails before their big show! Face with tears of joy
Picture
Also my first time seeing the fountain, which looks great. Epcot is still very much under construction but if it’s going to look as good as this when it’s done, I’ll take it.

Picture
Today we have our first Walt Disney World update of 2018 as Renée takes us on the tour of the amazing looking Epcot International Festival of the Arts.

In it's second year, Epcot's newest festival looks to be even bigger and better than last year.

Enjoy!!

Visiting Epcot tonight to see some of the offerings at this year’s Festival of the Arts.

At the Odyssey Festival Showplace, you can shop and dine, view artwork and go to seminars. Tonight, I thought I would just grab a quick beer.

If you can’t make it to one of the Disney on Broadway shows, they sell merchandise from The Lion King and Aladdin at the festival

There is a whole exhibit of various Disney attractions posters from the parks around the world. So cool!

I had to try the chocolate flight at the Artist’s Table in America. It’s very rich, and any chocolate lover must have it! Definitely hit the spot on a chilly night tonight.

I absolutely love the work of Jerrod Maruyama and already have several prints framed at home. Looks like I’ll be adding this Epcot one to my collection

Opening day of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

Picture
With a new year comes all of the great events at parks across the county. It seems that special events have become the norm and for most parks they go far beyond the historical timeframe of Halloween and Christmas.

Nowhere is this more apparent than at EPCOT which is not only host to the fabulous Flower and Garden and Food and Wine festivals, but now the awesome looking Festival of the Arts. Let's take a look!!

Today is the first day of the Epcot International Festival of the Arts!
Picture
Figment is one of my favorite characters, and he seems to be a big part of this festival. I love it already!
Picture
I even got my Figment's Brush with the Master's scavenger hunt map. Wish me luck!
Picture
Picture
Before searching for Figment, I'll stop by the Festival Showplace at the Odyssey.
Picture
You can check out some great Disney artwork by Mary Blair and Herbert Ryman at the Festival Showplace.
Picture
Picture
There are also different seminars offered a few times a day. Keep in mind that the Festival is only on weekends (Fri-Mon).
Picture
And you can get some delicious food and drinks, too! At the Painter's Palate.
Picture
Picture
Here is the food offered at Painter's Palate, including the detail on the Mary Blair chocolate.
Picture
Picture
I went with the margherita flatbread and 3 Daughters strawberry blonde nitro beer. Both are excellent!
Picture
There are some "living statues" by the fountain in Future World.
Picture
Picture
In this interactive wall mural, guests are given paint and can paint their own 5 squares.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Here's my contribution to the mural, using the color Fashion Flame. Can't wait to see the finished product!
Picture
Picture
There are several pop up art booths all around the World Showcase at Epcot.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Some of the booths have artists there signing as well. Kristin Tercek does great pieces for Disney.
Picture
Hoping to get into the Disney on Broadway concert. The standby line stretches back to Germany!
Picture
Picture
So excited! I saw @ashleybrown9 in Mary Poppins and Beauty & the Beast and @Joshuajstrick in Tarzan on Broadway!
Picture
Absolutely loved Disney on Broadway concert! Ashley Brown & Josh Strickland are incredible!
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
I'm definitely a fan of all of the Figment themed merchandise at the festival.
Picture
Picture
Picture
I like how artwork has been added to character meet and greets.
Picture
I almost forgot about my Figment scavenger hunt! Here is one, and its location is spoiler-free if you're also participating.
Picture
They weren't joking when they said jumbo chocolate chip cookie!
Picture
Picture
I was more about the art than the food this visit, but here is some of what's offered.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Some of the items at Pop Eats look interesting. Might have to try that next time!
Picture
Picture
And a few more menus from around the festival. Some are a bit pricey but I'm sure they're all very good!
Picture
Picture
Picture
The workshops in Japan look fun! Something else I'll need to add to the list for my next visit.
Picture
The specialty drinks at the coffee kiosks also look yummy
Picture
I completed the Figment scavenger hunt and claimed my prize, one of four different magnets.
Picture
Really loved Festival of the Arts at Epcot! Great addition to the park. We'll definitely be back, especially for the concerts!
