Park Journey has learned that the Flintstones BBQ will be closed beginning September 2 and will be demolished to make room for the new Springfield expansion.
The Louie's outdoor seating area will also be removed although Louie's itself and the Ben and Jerry's location (on the opposite side of the umbrellas below will remain open.
In addition, the permanent queue for Shrek 4D will begin construction, as a result the Donkey Kart will be moved across the way near the Universal Plaza.
Also remember that September 1 is your last day to see House of Horrors before it closes.
Lots of changes coming to Universal Hollywood. Can't wait to see it done!!
What: Hip-hop group Far East Movement and World of Dance, featuring wildly-popular dance crew JabbaWockeeZ, celebrate the final weekend of Universal CityWalk’s free summer “Music Spotlight Series” at the “5 Towers” stage on Thursday, August 28 and Saturday, August 30.
“5 Towers” stage at Universal CityWalk is Los Angeles’ free premier open-air concert venue which is host to a multitude of performances by some of today’s most influential artists, including Jason DeRulo, CeeLo Green, John Legend, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepson, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz and Good Charlotte.
WHO: Based in Los Angeles, Far East Movement got their big break when their song “Round and Round” was featured in the blockbuster film “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.” From there, their smash hit “Like a G6” with Dev took the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 – a first for an Asian-American group. They continue to release new music and have collaborated with Travis Garland, Riff Raff and Sidney Samson, among others.
The winners of the first season of “America’s Best Dance Crew,” the JabbaWockeeZ headline the World of Dance night. With their iconic white masks, this eight-member team impresses audiences with their extraordinary dance style and synchronized routines. Additional dancers and crews scheduled to perform include Madd Chadd (“Step Up” movies), Flavahz Crew (“America’s Best Dance Crew”), Fikshun (“So You Think You Can Dance”), Asia Monet Ray (“Raising Asia”) and Marlee Hightower (“America’s Got Talent”)

The complete concert schedule is below
It's been awhile since our last visit to Universal Studios Hollywood so we've got a pretty big update for you today.
Hogsmeade has really taken shape since our last visit, walls are starting to be built at Forbidden Journey and of course we have some Halloween Horror Nights construction pictures. We'll also say goodbye to House of Horrors which closes forever on September 1st (other than for Face Off for HHN).
First we'll take a look at the upper lot construction area of Hogsmeade and Springfield.
Pointy roofs are starting to really show up all over the place.
Square buildings for Springfield
Work also is continuing on Forbidden Journey. Walls are taking shape and soon there won't be much to see of the actual ride. It's still amazing that Hogwarts is still going to be on top of this massive building.
Looking up from the Studio Tour area
Still lots of work to do between the area where Hogsmeade is and where the attraction is. The pedestrian bridge that connected the Waterworld area with the old Universal Amphitheater was also removed recently.
Fast and Furious: Supercharged
The tram route has moved again and now goes right next to the 2015 attraction "Fast and Furious: Supercharged'. You can see just how massive this building is.
Halloween Horror Nights
We'll take a look at HHN construction, we've got an update on all of the mazes currently in progress.
Dracula Untold "Reign of Blood" will be located on the upper lot between Mel's and Despicable Me.
Clowns 3D *Music By Slash* will be located behind Mummy. Not really much to be seen here.
The most anticipated maze (for us) "An American Werewolf In London" will be located behind Jurassic Park
Behind this facade, work is being done on The Walking Dead
Alien vs Predator in stage 747
From Dusk Til Dawn. If you think it looks small, you'd be right.
House of Horrors
As previously reported, House of Horrors will be closing on September 1.
House of Horrors will be returning as "Face Off" for Halloween Horror Nights and then will not be returning. We have no idea what will be replacing it at this time but indications are that at least the lobby may be a retail location for Harry Potter (for now).
Around The Park
Just a couple of very quick notes from the rest of the park. A look at the parks production schedule for Friday Aug, 22.
They are preparing to shoot the Halloween episode of the show "About a Boy" ... and they REALLY need to stop with the Desperate Housewives talk on the tram. It's over!!
Love when the New York Street residents are out
Don't move ... don't even blink. =)
Last and most certainly not least, The Jon Lovitz Comedy Club had a tribute for the great Robin Williams up on their marquee. RIP.
