6/24/2024 Universal Studios Hollywood Update: June 24, 2024 - New Photo Ops, HHN and Fast and Furious!Over the weekend we headed out to Universal Studios Hollywood to check out the new photo ops in Universal Plaza to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the studio tour (we absolutely LOVE them), check out what's the latest on Halloween Horror Nights progress (we've started working on our yearly survival guide already) and of course the latest on Fast and Furious progress. For this update we'll start out in CityWalk.  The Minion's are coming back and they've got a new photo op. Apparently there are MEGA MINIONS in this one? In the Universal Store, some new HHN merchandise has arrived, and it's very similar to Orlando's.
 Absolutely gorgeous day, a bit warm, but didn't seem too crowded.  Let's head into Universal Plaza and check out some of the new photo ops. They're fantastic and IMO they should have been out here the entire time. There's also some incredible murals.  Help, Shark!  Who remembers/misses the Ice Tunnel?  Once this thing hits 88mph you're gonna see some serious ...  Some of the 60th anniversary merch has made it's way out here. I almost got the shirt.  A fantastic E.T. photo op.  The wild west stunt show photo op has a fantastic cast of deputies, who I had a bit of fun with. I really do miss when the park had so many awesome shows.  Let's move on, here in the Parisian courtyard, a yet unannounced house for HHN 2024.   Dead Exposure: Death Valley which was announced last week. It's looking like we may get an announcement of a new house very soon.  Even though it appears Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift is moving quickly (it is), the attraction still isn't opening until 2026.   A look at the construction site, lots of footers being dug.    We've got what appears to be an entry and/or exit from the station to the course. Until we get a full layout description from the park we still aren't sure.   The area that is going under and over the Starway.   A look back up at what we assume will eventually be the station.    Looking down the hill you can see just how big this project actually is.  You can see here the size of the footers, which go very deep into the ground here. And the cylinders (left side of the pic) that surround the footers until they are completely cured.  Jurassic World just came back from a very quick (it was like 2 days) refurb.  The ride is looking fantastic, but that splash could be a bit bigger. Related Videos

Happy June everybody and welcome to an all new update from Universal Studios Hollywood! Due to work and travel it's been a bit since our last update so we've got a lot to share including some new park merchandise, Fast and Furious construction. Halloween Horror Nights prep and of course some thoughts and pics from the Studio Tour 60th Anniversary! Let's jump right in!  So much amazing 60th Anniversary merchandise, have to pace ourselves.

 Last night was the USH Pass Member Park Takeover (say that 5 times fast) so we were at the park a little later in the day. Check out our full update video below!   Let's take a look at some Halloween Horror Nights prep!  Tickets went on sale today and they announced the first house for HHN Hollywood which is for The Quiet Place! I don't think it's going here.  I don't think it's going here either. =)  Moving on, so much work on Fast and Furious since our last update!  This image is already obsolete as the second set of transfer track was added just today!   As I mentioned in the update video, this seems to be a bit higher off the ground than I would have anticipated.    A look at the station/queue from the starway area.   You've really got to zoom in to see all of the construction going on!   The fog started rolling in and it was a quite pleasant evening at the park!  A+ park view.  We also got to do the 60th Studio Tour for the first time!  Absolutely LOVED it.  Loved all of the new intro videos and the updates to Earthquake were fantastic. I got video of one side, will get the other side soon and put them together.  I want this mural in my living room!   Courthouse Square is looking great!  Love being able to step off the tram!  Hope some of these photo ops end up in the park after the 60th is over.   
We did try the Butterbeer ice cream last night, and have to say it was odd that it was a bit different than the soft serve in Orlando (right side). It seemed more like vanilla ice cream with a Butterbeer Swirl vs "Butterbeer Ice Cream". Although it's possible we were just given the wrong order. But it was tasty! Guess we'll have to get it again. For science and stuff. =)  We also got our 60th Pass Member magnet thanks to friend of the site RideGuy70. So much appreciated since would have missed out.  That's going to wrap it up! We'll be getting back to more consistent updates as we ramp up to Halloween Horror Nights and of course continue our updates on Fast and Furious progress. 6/13/2023 Universal Studios Hollywood Update - Universal Monsters Merchandise, HHN and Construction UpdatesLast weekend we headed back to Universal Studios Hollywood for a day of fun, ended up spending about 7 hours in the park and had a fantastic time! We've got lots of great stuff to show you including some new Universal Monsters Merchandise, HHN progress and of course some construction updates on the upper lot. Enjoy!!  Welcome to Universal Studios Hollywood!  More pride merchandise has been added to the main store in the park.
 I needed a hat, so grabbed this one. Which was our discovery that there is a lot of new Universal Monsters merchandise now available!  Frankenstein  The Mummy. No 1999 Mummy stuff though. I think they should add that.  The Creature  I didn't get pics of the back of all the shirts.  Mugs and, are these stuffed animals? Do they have a name?   The Wolf Man. The TM's in the store mentioned a Wolf Man hat is coming soon.   I actually like that they have different color shirts.    Bride of Frankenstein hat  Frankenstein's monster. I get from a marketing perspective it's easier to just put Frankenstein on it.   Frankenstein snap-back and bucket hat.  Absolutely love this  Okay, let's move over to HHN Construction. Not much visible change here.   Hoping we'll get some kind of announcement soon.  Work is going on at the ex Special Effects Show building. Weird place to start, but they know what they're doing more than we do. =)   If I had to guess, some of the façade of the building will be staying.   The house behind the mummy is getting some more work done.   We're about 92.33% sure this is a return of Holidayz in Hell.  A look at the façade from 2019.  There was an orthodontics party after park closing.  A nighttime tour gives some great looks of War of the Worlds   We'll leave you with a look at a lit up Hogwarts Related Videos
