CoasterMatt headed up to Universal Studios Hollywood yesterday and sent us some construction pictures and more preparations for Grinchmas, which opens on Dec 6th. If you'd like to see more of Matt's amazing pictures, be sure to check out his Flickr page. The biggest change this week is that walls are up around House of Horrors and the Blues Brothers stage. The Blues Brothers will be back in the Universal Plaza after Grinchmas (not the lower lot as previously reported ... thanks Inside Universal). Lots of work done in Hogsmeade this week as well. Rock-work has begun!!! The amount of walls around the upper lot at the moment is astounding. But it's going to all be awesome when it's done. And a quick look at Forbidden Journey. Doesn't look like too much difference from last week. Moving onto the Holidays, before you even get in the park you'll find that CityWalk is all decked out. Be sure to check out the kick-off of the Holidays at CityWalk this Monday with The Voice finalists. More decorations are being added to various buildings around the park. Even heading down to the Studio Tour Interesting that there's nothing on the Starbucks building ... yet. Lampposts are decorated on the Lower Lot Jurassic Tree That's going to wrap it up for this quick update. We'll be back at the park after Thanksgiving for the beginning of Grinchmas. It's once again time for Grinchmas at Universal Studios Hollywood as the park kicks off it's annual event on December 6th. Last week was the Universal Studios Hollywood Day of Giving (Click link for more info) so we were at the park for the tail-end of the event. It's always great to see parks going out of their way to help the community. So while at the Day of Giving we decided to head into the park to get a quick update. GrinchmasWe'll start off with Christmas decorations out at CityWalk, which isn't a part of "Grinchmas" but just regular Christmas stuff. You've gotta go into the park to get Grinch'y with it. Even Andy Dick thinks it's too soon for Christmas decorations Some new decorations under the Universal arch. Wonder how these have been holding up with the high winds we've been having here in Southern California The Universal Plaza is closed as they prepare to set up trees and other things for Grinchmas More decorations and icicles have been added to the various buildings on the upper lot Not sure if we'll see any additional decorations around Despicable Me The Whoville sets on the tram are getting decorations as well as a MUCH needed paint job. Springfield/Harry PotterNot too much different on Springfield and Wizarding World since our last update, but enough for a few pictures. Coming soon to a theme park near you ... Panels!! Sorry, Panels AND Windows Ben & Jerry's and Louie's are still standing They've started expanding Wizarding World to the empty area And lastly, since there was no other place to put it, the water play area for Super Silly Fun Land is closed for refurbishment. We hope you enjoyed this update. Be sure you are following us this week on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for IAAPA updates. |
