![]() Yesterday we headed out to Universal Studios Hollywood to cover the Jurassic World 5k (we promise, one of these times we'll actually run the race) and of course stayed after a bit to do a park update. Lots of activity at the park as they prepare for the Holidays and Grinchmas, as well as Secret Life of Pets and Super Nintendo World. Let's head in!! Written by Gregg Condon Jurassic World 5kSomething truly magical about heading into a theme park before it even opens. It was in the low 50's and perfect at the start of the race. It got up to the 90's later in the day. Winter in SoCal!! They used the digital boards to help the runners which was awesome. And of course, no theme park race would be complete without characters!! Lots of runners heading down to the lower lot. Be sure to check out our highlight video too. Some were going for a fast time, others were just enjoying the park and course. I'm sure people were flying down this hill!! We moved over to the finish The kids race medals Congrats runners!! We didn't hear that the T-Rex caught any of you, so that's good. Park Update Let's head into the park and check out what's going on. Now that HHN is over, the park has quickly switched to Holiday mode. Lots of awesome Holiday merch A collection of shirts, hoodies, characters and more. It snowed at the park apparently. Always love the Minion tree They're getting ready for Grinchmas Taken before the park opened as we were headed to the finish of the 5k, but totally loved this pic. Even the Wizarding World is celebrating the holidays Secret Life of Pets is coming along quite nicely The amount of detail on the building is impressive Super Nintendo Land is growing each and every time we visit the park Impressive, most impressive. The decorations are also all around CityWalk Tony Roma's is closed, NBC Sports Grill/Brew is coming. Cool new (to us at least) mugs at Voodoo Doughnuts And even some Universal Running doughnuts King Kong wishes you a GrrrGrrr Grrrrrrmas. We'll be back in a few weeks for Grinchmas!! Hope you enjoyed the update!! Related Videos:

Last weekend we said goodbye to two of our favorite Halloween events. We first headed up to Halloween Horror Night's late on Friday night specifically for one of our favorite things ever, Chainsaw Chaseout.
We then headed back to HHN on Sunday to say goodbye to the event for a few hours. We also got some pics of construction happening around the park, since we are a theme park update site too. =)

Hi HHN!! We usually like to get here for early entry, but tonight we had a different agenda.
We honestly hadn't really planned on doing mazes, or at the very least, 1 or 2, but wait times were pretty low so we decided to do a few.
After quick walk-on at House of 1000 Corpses, we decided to celebrate the holidays!
And then through Pandora's Box, which I have to be honest, we wish we'd gone through more during the season. Every night we had a different favorite (weird how that happens) and on Friday this was our favorite.
We then headed downstairs to visit our Killer Klown friends and then back up top for Chainsaw Chaseout, which we love so much.
Sunday afternoon we found ourselves back at Universal after seeing Jesus Christ Superstar at the Pantages.
Side note, if you get a chance to see the 50th Anniversary Tour, DO IT!! It's amazing. We decided to have a late lunch/early dinner at Antojitos.
Mexican Mule
The Torta was amazing
As was the Quesadilla
Having lived our entire lives in SoCal we're VERY picky when it comes to Mexican food. This isn't just "good for CityWalk" Mexican food, it's good Mexican food. Also, have had a couple of tweets from those in Orlando about their Antojitos and the service there. I'm happy to say that our service here on Sunday couldn't have been better. Yay!!
Headed in for one last night ...
Secret Life of Pets is coming along nicely on the outside
Super Nintendo Land is bigger each and every time we visit
They were having a HUGE sale
I got this for $3.96.
After tackling all 3 backlot mazes by about 6:30, we headed to Killer Klowns.
This dude brought it, each and every night. Kudos!!
20 minute waits for both Us and Pandora, don't mind if we do.
We decided to live stream our last maze of Haunt Season 2019, Holidayz in Hell. Enjoy!!
And with that, we say a sad farewell to Haunt Season 2019.
Our final maze counts for the season and our visits with the frequent fear pass. We really did love being able to go multiple nights and see the progression of each maze. We will definitely be getting it again next year.
And just because this made us laugh way more than it should have. It's still HHN specific. =)
Hope you all enjoyed reading our Halloween updates, we'll see you at Midsummer Scream on July 31st!!
And just because people have been asking, below are all of our maze videos, in order of favorite to least favorite.
1 - Ghostbusters
2 - Killer Klowns from Outer Space
3 - Holidayz in Hell (we never did get a full video, see the live-stream above)
4 - Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman
5 - Creepshow
6 - Pandora's Box
7 - Us
8 - House of 1000 Corpses
9 - Stranger Things 2
We REALLY did love being able to experience the event multiple nights and I think you kind of need to in order to really see everything.
