Guests will enjoy new ways to level up, including the grand opening of the all-new Power Up Cafe, the debut of a commemorative, special-release Golden Power-Up Band™ and a limited-edition complimentary 1-Year Anniversary Button. The celebratory news coincides with a recent 2024 Theme Park Insider Award in which SUPER NINTENDO WORLD was voted by Theme Park Insider readers as the “Best New Attraction of 2023.” And the celebration continues in 2024. On February 15, the all-new Power Up Cafe opens on New York Street, located on the Upper Lot inside the theme park. This exciting original concept venue invites guests to power up outside of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD.  This innovative grab and go cafe will serve a scrumptious menu of Super Mario™ Power Up themed menu items available exclusively at this permanent new cafe. A highlight of the one-year celebration will include a commemorative, special-release Golden Power-Up Band, a perfect addition to the existing six Power-Up Band design options with character themes. The Golden Power-Up Band will be available for purchase within the land and at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD retail shops located in the theme park, starting on February 17. For a limited time, guests can also get a complimentary 1-Year Anniversary Button. This special commemorative collector piece will be available, beginning February 17 and while supplies last, at Guest Relations, located inside the theme park. We've got a very special update for you today! We're going to take a look back on Super Nintendo World Construction from our first ever Construction Picture in December 2018, all the way through media night on February 15, 2023. We've got a video below and pictures if you prefer that. We really hope you enjoy this look back on the creation of Super Nintendo World.  December 4, 2018 - Our first shot of actual construction other than sound stage removal.  February 9, 2019 - You can already start to see the shape of the land as we know it today.     February 25, 2019 - A view you will never see again!        September 19, 2019 - A pretty large gap between updates, but you can see a lot of progress!        November 4, 2019 - For some reason we stayed up top, but really like the lighting in these pics. I think it was HHN closing night?   November 17, 2019 - Just a few weeks later we found ourselves back at Super Nintendo World!     January 29, 2020 - These were actually taken the same day as the Kobe Bryan helicopter crash, you can see just how foggy it was that day.     This is where Mario Kart is today!          February 20, 2020 - We were at the park for a Secret Life of Pets tour that day, that we didn't even end up running until a year later, because of ... something. =)  By the time we see this view again, all of the Mario Kart building will be closed in.      March 20, 2021 - A full 13 months later, we attended the food festival event at the park and were able to see the amazing progress on Super Nintendo World.     May 24, 2021 - The park is now open and we're able to get down to the lower lot!       July 20, 2021 - You can start to see the rest of the land emerging in front of the Mario Kart show building.     Glorious sightline =)   August 24, 2021 - You can really start to see Mount Beanpole and Bowsers Castle taking shape.   November 2, 2021 - the outsides of Mount Beanpole and more of Super Nintendo World are coming into shape.         November 21, 2021 - More walls ready to go into place!       January 7, 2022 - 364 days from our Super Nintendo World Tour, the land looked like this!     April 29, 2022 - We're really starting to see more themed elements, and the outside animatronics!        June 24, 2022 - We now have an "early 2023 opening date!!          August 24, 2022 - Even more themed elements are added, and this may have been the first update we saw movement from some of the animatronics.      October 30, 2022 - On our last visit of HHN 2022 we got to see the Super Nintendo World sign!!   November 7, 2022 - Just a mere 2 months from our first time in the land, you can see the amount of work to be done.       January 6, 2023 - We were honored to be included in a tour of Super Nintendo World! This was just about 5 days prior to Technical Rehearsals.      January 16, 2023 - Our first Technical Rehearsal for Super Nintendo World!     February 15, 2023 - It was finally here! Super Nintendo Media Night and Grand Opening! Last Thursday we were invited out to Universal Studios Hollywood for a preview of the long awaited Toothsome Chocolate Emporium at CityWalk.
This eatery has replaced the former Hard Rock Cafe which means it's location within CityWalk is front and center located between all of the parking structures and just steps away from Universal Cinema. Toothsome officially opened last Friday to large crowds and great reviews! You can see all of the details for Toothsome at this link, including links to getting a reservation! There had been a few previews, but on this night it was our turn!!
Can we make it a rule that every time you walk in somewhere they just hand you an amazing milkshake? =)
Let's check out the food, we didn't get to try it all, but what we did try was amazing!
I'm a huge fan of Creme Brulee, and this did not disappoint.
Nor did the Bread Pudding!
I hate tomatoes, like hate with a passion. But the Bruschetta was maybe the best thing we tried all night. And I didn't even take off the tomatoes.
We already have a list of things to try when we get back to Toothsome. This is one of them.
We got to try 3 of the crafted drinks. The Root Beer Old Fashioned, PB Cup Fashioned and the Cacao Nut Margarita. My favorite was the Root Beer Old Fashioned.
Toothsome also features an upstairs seating area. They also set up a little buffet up here for us.
The ceiling is awesome!
And great views of CityWalk.
The previously mentioned Chocolate Creme Brulee. The Bread Pudding pictured below was also pretty amazing.
Lots of great steampunk props throughout the restaurant.
If you don't want to eat inside the restaurant, you can head to the bar to get a shake!
