 Here in Southern California our theme parks are not only open all year, but there are constant amazing events at all of them. One such event is the great Lunar New Year event each year at Universal Studios Hollywood. This years event featured a few new shows, some more tasty treats and all around fun. Let's check it out! Written by Gregg Condon Welcome to Universal Studios Hollywood  Some cool spinners on the hanging plants at the front of the park in celebration of Lunar New Year All of the characters are also decked out in their Lunar New Year outfits  Amazing photo op  Most of the activities are in the Universal Plaza  Video highlights of the Lunar New Year The beautiful cherry blossom trees are back  Hi Poe!! Special shout out to Poe's companion, she's absolutely fantastic in getting those taking pictures to do all of the poses.  Hey Tigris!!  You can try all of the different stances of the Furious Five.  There was also a very cool Cultural Celebration put on by a local group, we all found it very entertaining and inspiring.  Today we were invited out to Universal Studios Hollywood to check out the ever-expanding Lunar New Year Celebrations including new shows, food and a lot of fun. We also took a couple of minutes out to check out the plethora of projects going on around the park. Let's check it out!! Written by Gregg Condon Welcome to Lunar New Year!!   Fun Minion Costumes!!  Some highlights of the event  All of the great things to check out  As well as some fun facts!!  Some great treats at Mr. Ping's Noodles    Year of the Pig cookies  Potstickers were very yummy  As were the Bao. 10/10 would eat again.  A Lunar New Year Tradition  More fun facts ... it's bad luck to clean today!!    You can also learn to draw!!   The stage looks great, lots of fun shows  Including this one that we totally loved which tells the story of the Lunar New Year. The host was great, and her "evil laugh" was so great. Let's take a look at the projects going on around the park. Unannounced Project #1 is looking great!! Look for it to open in 2020.   It's quite large now      Down on he lower lot, it looks like Unannounced Project #2 is going vertical    Let's look at the one project going on at the park that we do know what it is, and it's looking great!!  Brown turns to Grey   The entire area is getting a very nice facelift  The park is gone. The world is coming soon.   Something is missing here ...  Better  CRANE!!!
