Our Halloween coverage continues today with opening weekend of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando. The Frequent Fear Pass is a thing of beauty which means we should have a few updates from this amazing event this season. Check out Renée's opening weekend fun. Written by Renée Girard Heading into Universal Orlando for the opening night of Halloween Horror Nights! If you can do the Stay & Scream it's totally worth it! American Horror Story is our first house of the night. It features Asylum, Coven & Roanoke from the series. Loved it! Next up is Dead Waters. Very cool house with a voodoo theme. I just wish it was longer! The Fallen wasn't one of the best houses, but maybe our timing was off and missed some scares. I like the addition of the Tribute Store from last year, and how there are displays for some of the houses. # The Purge scare zone is back once again, and it's always a crowd pleaser. At Orlando HHN, where alcohol has always been served, it seemed like the options were more limited this year. Really loved the Trick R Treat scare zone! Definitely the most elaborate and fun of those we experienced Caught a performance of Bill & Ted tonight too, in their final HHN appearance. They will be missed. Be excellent to each other! And it wouldn't be HHN without Mel's Die-In. That's all for tonight in Orlando, but we'll be back for more soon! Back at HHN Orlando tonight! Some of the houses are already getting longish wait times. So worth it to get here early! Trying one of the signature drinks, Midnight Madness. Anyone know where to get the pumpkin, s'mores & candy corn drinks? Characters from all the houses gather in the Alters of Horror scare zone at the front of the park. Students of Hogwarts support the Purge. Enjoyed visiting the vampires of The Hive. Creepy and cool house, really long too! Walking through the Invasion scare zone, for terror that is out of this world. Blumhouse was one of the ones I was looking forward to the most. So much fun!Featuring scenes from Sinister, Insidious & The Purge. Lower crowds at HHN tonight than last night. Loving having a Frequent Fear Pass again. Be back in a few days I'm sure! Related Updates: We're getting down to it everybody, the big Christmas celebration is in less than a week. We hope you're getting those last minute preparations ready, it's probably the last day to order stuff on Amazon to get stuff delivered in time and the stores are gonna be packed with procrastinators. OR ... you can just sit back with a nice cup of cocoa or peppermint mocha and enjoy this great update from the Holidays at Unviersal Orlando Resort. Written by Renée Girard Spending the afternoon at Universal Orlando to see what's going on for the holidays! Picking up the new Starbucks mug from Universal Orlando too! The weather is perfect and wait times are short at Islands of Adventure. Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure always looks fun and festive this time of year. We stopped by to meet the Grinch before going to his show. Going to see the Grinchmas show at Islands of Adventure. Feels like HHN, as we go into one of the sound stages. The performers in Grinchmas do a terrific job recreating the characters. And Max is adorable! Harry Potter & the Forbidden Journey is closed for most of December at Islands of Adventure, but guests can still walk through the queue. Now on to Universal Studios for the Macy's Holiday Parade! Mannheim Steamroller will be in concert Universal Orlando weekends in December. Construction on Race Through New York with Jimmy Fallon. Construction over at the Fast & Furious Ride, with the Scooby Doo ballon. Universal Orlando has recently been testing Return Time Tickets, which you can book on the app or at a kiosk, currently only for Shrek 4D. Ending our day at Universal Orlando with the Macy's Holiday Parade! I love all of the unique floats, characters and balloons that are part of the parade. All of your favorite Universal characters make appearances in the holiday parade too! The Macy's Holiday Parade balloons are huge in person! Once Santa gets to the Christmas tree along the parade, the lights come on. Looks great! The holiday experiences at Universal Orlando are always a lot of fun to see. We had a great day! Related Updates: In a world of RunDisney races (even one held last weekend in Orlando) sometimes you just want to do something a bit different, and less crowded. So with that in mind Renée took on the Universal Orlando Fun Run last weekend which from the looks of it gave the runners a pretty empty course through the two Universal Orlando parks. Check out all the fun times. Written by Renée Girard Why are we at Universal before the sun is up? I love Disney races but this weekend we're skipping those for something different instead, the UO Fun Run! The UO Fun Run took us through both theme parks, starting with Universal Studios. On to Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando where we took a lap around the entire park. And the finish line was at CityWalk near Hard Rock Cafe. More from the finish line at the UO Fun Run at Universal Orlando . Great race! We were greeted by some minions after crossing the finish line. Really enjoyed starting my day with the UO Fun Run. Thanks Universal Orlando for a great morning! Related Updates: |
