Last month Matt and his lovely wife Rose headed out to Orlando to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary which meant spending a few days at Universal Orlando Resort and Halloween Horror Nights. So since there's not really much "construction" wise going along, and because Matt takes amazing pictures, we figured we'd just post some photo tours of the park. So here is the first one from Universal Studios Florida and some from CityWalk. We'll post IOA on Friday. All pictures by Matthew Nelson Welcome to Universal Studios Florida And there's our look at Universal Studios Florida. We hoped you enjoyed seeing some great detailed pictures of this amazing park instead of just the normal "what's being built" type updates. Stay tuned the rest of this week as we kind of found ourselves with a plethora of Universal updates. Tomorrow we'll have an update from the UOR Fun Run, Thursday a trip report from HHN Hollywood, but this ones a bit different as we had to do it with a wheelchair (so that was different) and then Friday we'll have our photo update of Islands of Adventure. Related Updates: It's finally here!!! Well actually, it feels like it came on faster than ever, but it's here!!! Halloween Season, where over the next month in a half we get to bring you all of the scary stuff we all love so much. So what better way to kick off the season than with Renée at HHN 26 in Orlando. Written by Renée Girard Click any of the pictures below for a larger version Tonight we're checking out this year's Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort Airport style metal detectors are now at the entrance to CityWalk The scare actors have lots of fun with guests entering the park Academy of Villains: House of Fear is a stage show 4 times nightly We are about to enter Tomb of the Ancients There is no shortage of bars Love this shot every year Have we been naughty or nice? Let's find out in the Krampus house The specialty merchandise store at #HHN26 offers lots of souvenirs as well as characters from their houses Really like the theme of the Dead Man's Wharf scare zone Let's see what Michael Myers has in store for us in Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield Definitely got some good scares in the Halloween house! A Chance in Hell scare zone has some fun scenes set up Survive or Die Apocalypse scare zone is very interactive! Ghost Town: The Curse of Lightning Gulch was really well done and one of our favorites! Due to lack of time and exhaustion we're missing these 3 houses at #HHN26 but we've heard good things! Time for our final house of the night, and the one we're most looking forward to, American Horror Story They seemed to be prepared for long queues at the American Horror Story house Our favorite house of the night was American Horror Story. If you're a fan of the show, you'll love it! Related Updates: Now that summer is winding down and many of our AP's are becoming valid again, we're going to start having some new updates, and first up is Renée and Morgan's trip to Universal Orlando Resort yesterday where they got to check out the new Toothsome Chocolate Emporium. They were also able to check out Reign of Kong and the newly re-opened Hulk. Written by Renée Girard Click any of the pictures below for a larger version Our passes aren't blocked anymore, so we decided to stop by Universal Orlando Resort for the evening Before the parks, we thought we'd check out the new Toothsome Chocolate Emporium at CityWalk The quick service counter at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is to your left as you enter, with lots of sweet desserts. The gift shop is to your right as you enter the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium There are quite a few unique "steampunk"-ish items for sale in the gift shop as well. There are quite a few unique "steampunk"-ish items for sale in the gift shop as well. We were intrigued by the different types of marshmallows that they had, including absinthe The cotton candy display looks awesome and colorful You can also watch as some of the chocolate treats are made right in front of you Entering the actual restaurant at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is quite impressive. The team members are great and interactive, including a robot going around to the tables to greet guests. With an hour wait at the restaurant, we opted to just get a drink at the bar upstairs, where you could also get food The chocolate stout beer is made exclusively for the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium. It's delicious! At the bar, there is a nice view of City Walk as well. The menu is basically a giant book, with several pages of food and drink offerings. If you want brunch all day, you can have it here! The drink selection is huge, and this page is only for the beer. The desserts look amazing, and I definitely plan on trying at least one of these next time! It's really cool to see what they did with the former NBC City restaurant. Toothsome looks fantastic! We ventured to Islands of Adventure to ride the newly updated Hulk coaster. The new locker system works out really well! Just make sure you keep your ticket with you and not in your locker. The new signs, queue and sound system are awesome! Hulk smash! It's great to have this coaster back! We also finally visited our friend King Kong at Skull Island. 75 minute wait posted was only 55. We liked Skull Island, nothing amazing but a solid ride for IOA. Wish they used more animatronics than screens! Had a great time checking out the new additions Universal Orlando Resort! Thanks again to Renée and Morgan for the amazing update, Toothsome looks amazing and of course it's always nice to see an update from Universal Orlando. We'll be back at Universal Orlando soon for Halloween Horror Nights!! Related Updates: |
