This past weekend Andrew headed up to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to take a look at The Joker construction and some other stuff going on around the park.

Looks like it was an absolutely beautiful day in the Bay Area.

Through the magic of the Internet, we are also at @sixflagsDK today. Anyone up for some #Joker pics?

Lots of work going on at the park before the Spring Break/Summer season begins.

The Flippy Dippy doo-dad thing is looking awesome.

Maybe they'll sell Roar wood?

Does anyone else think that Joker's drop looks like a mini Expedition GeForce? Looks amazing!

Superman packs a serious punch

Time to check out the new Pacific Rim attraction

Pacific Rim signage in the queue, but nothing on the building yet. Great to see an old area get some new life!

We're back at SFMM today for another look at The New Revolution which underwent some pretty big changes just since our tour this past Monday.

We also have another video update below so be sure to check it out. Enjoy!!

Your weekly reminder to be sure to get your tickets for Mountain Madness 2.0 being held June 5 at Six Flags Magic Mountain. We'll have ERT on The New Revolution, Tours, Lunch and MUCH more. Click here to get your tickets.

The biggest change this week is to the loop where they decided to go with all white instead of the blue and white we saw during our tour this past Monday. Below you can see a picture from Monday and below that from Saturday.

They were most definitely still painting today. The loop definitely needed another coat of white as some of the blue was still peeking through.
Picture
Picture
They are also setting up the lighting rig on the loop, and it's going to look AWESOME!!! Will be interesting to see if they go with all white or LED's that can change colors. Imagine having different colors for Fright Fest/Holiday In The Park/4th of July/etc.
Picture
All of the supports in the plaza are now finished.

Future "The New Revolution" sign?
Picture
The station building looks to be done with painting.
Picture
Lots of landscaping going on where the new ADA entrance will be. Looks like all that's left is the fencing.
Picture
Picture
The queue and station is going with a very subtle "Red, White and Blue". Very nice.
Picture
They were building the new Ride Control Booth today.

LOTS of landscaping going on around the exit of the ride. It's going to be a good spot to see the ride from.

The lift hill has been painted!!

The ride looks absolutely beautiful.

They were working on the area just before the ramp drop to the loop.

Let's take a look around at what else is changing. It's still Suzette's Bakery. Didn't notice too many changes inside.
Picture
Picture
Uh, aren't these 2015 bottles? And this wasn't the only one of these signs in the park.
Picture
Flags has been completely gutted and is getting a much needed remodeling.
Picture
Picture
Still the Cyber Cafe.
Picture
The Grand Carousel is still under refurbishment. It's pretty extensive.

Picture
It's still called the Orient Express here. Be sure to check out our "Helpful Honda Express" POV below.
Picture
And lastly, Panda Express is still undergoing it's change to Chop Six.
Picture
That's going to wrap it up for this update. We hope you enjoyed.

We won't have an update next week as we have a family event next weekend.

Thanks again for all of the support. It's much appreciated.

Picture
Today we were invited up for a great tour of The New Revolution now under construction at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

The ride is looking AMAZING and we simply couldn't wait to share the update with you.

We've also included a walk-through video for those who might want to have a video tour instead of pictures, or both. We wanted to try something a little different so we hope you enjoy it. If you do, let us know and we'll do more of them.

Also, don't forget that you can join us on June 5 for Mountain Madness 2.0 where we will have ERT on The New Revolution, food, tours and more. Be sure to click the link to check that out.

We'll start off with a look at the spectacular loop which looks great with the blue around it. They were applying the primer today so this should hopefully be completed by next week.
Picture
A closer look, as you can see the primer is definitely not the finished product.
Picture
Hard at work.

According to our tour guide Bruce, the painting portion of the project is about 65% done and the entire project (not counting the trains) is about 75% done.
Picture
Unfortunately we can confirm that a re-paint of Tatsu is not in the budget, at least not for this year.
Picture
Along with The New Revolution, the entire front area of the park is getting redone.

The Cyber Cafe seen below will now be called the Plaza Cafe. It will have a few new food items and will still offer free WiFi and everything that's inside now. (Confirmed by the park).
Flags will now be called Six Flags Emporium and will receive a COMPLETE makeover inside.
Suzette's Bakery will be renamed the World Famous Funnel Cake Factory and will also undergo some changes inside to hopefully make it easier to navigate. Their hope is to do the renovations during the week as to allow people to still get Funnel Cakes on the weekends.
Picture
The Orient Express will now be called the "Helpful Honda Express" which means $$ needed to keep this attraction looking great. And it does.
Lastly, the Grand Carousel will remain the same name but will be receiving a full overhaul.
Picture
Picture
Moving on with the tour, white and shiny.
Picture
Picture
Picture
As we head into the construction zone we can see all of the great work they are doing.
Picture
The ride will no longer be themed to "Baja Ridge" but will instead be an "Americana" theme.
Picture
Picture
Picture
The water features will not be returning but the entire area is going to be completely landscaped.
Picture
Some new trees will be planted on the right.
Picture
The new path is the ADA entrance and that will be near X2.
Picture
Picture
Inside the station some things have changed, much hasn't.

The lift hill hasn't been painted ... yet.

Place your heads against the headrest because The New Revolution is coming VERY SOON!!!
Picture
There will be another tour VERY soon and we will of course be there to do another great update.

Thanks again for reading/viewing and for all of the incredible support. It's very much appreciated.

Six Flags Magic Mountain - The New Revolution Update #6

Picture
Today we were back at Six Flags Magic Mountain for a bit of pre Super-Bowl fun as well as to take a look at The New Revolution.

It's been a few weeks since our last update so we have quite a bit to get to today.

Before we get started with the update, don't forget that tickets to our event on June 5 are NOW ON SALE!! The event features ERT on The New Revolution, food, tours and much more all for just $55.

Click the picture below for details.

Picture
Alright, let's get on with the update.
Picture
As you can see, lots of painting has been going on since our last update, and the parts that have been painted look amazing.
Picture
The loop has yet to be painted.
Picture
Primer added to the bottom of the supports
Picture
Some of the completed parts of the ride, it looks great.
Picture
Picture
It's nice to see this ride being restored to it's former glory.
Picture
Picture
The top of the 3rd drop.
Picture
Moving around back to where the Chupacabra maze was ... some new paths are being drawn out. Not sure if this is for the queue or perhaps for Flash Pass.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Would be interesting if they moved the entrance back to this side.
Picture
Picture
Picture
The station looks great with it's new colors and roof.
Picture
Picture
The old ride panel is completely gone
Picture
No paint on the lift hill yet.
Picture
Picture
You can see on the bottom of the lift just how badly the ride needed paint.
Picture
Picture
This will be painted by the time we do our next update.
Picture

Coming down the second hill
Picture
Picture
Up the hill on the backside of the ride, most of this area has been painted.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Really shows how badly Tatsu needs to be painted.
Picture
Per our resident expert RD these are Velocity Magnets (sorry for not being able to zoom in more).
Picture
Back towards the front, the portion after the loop is still waiting to get painted
Picture
Picture
This is going to look so amazing when it's all done.
Picture
We got a few questions during our Periscope while we were at the park regarding opening dates. We have yet to hear anything official from the park. All we can say is it will be open by June 5. So if you are making travel plans to come ride, you are safe to make plans and come to our event. (shameless plug)

Along with The New Revolution, some of the other rides in the area are getting some TLC.
Picture
Picture
It's awesome to see the Grand Carousel get some work. Be sure to ride it when it reopens.
Picture
Picture

They are promoting RollerCoaster Tycoon World. Let's hope we actually get to play it soon.
Picture
The old Dolphin/Diving/Action Show / Aftermath area is still being demolished.
Picture
Don't think there was Stroller Parking for Aftermath, and can't remember when the last time there was a show in here. So this sign has been here awhile.
Picture
There'some kind of small excavator/crane in there
Picture
It'll be interesting to see what becomes of this area of the park.
Picture

Some new markers with numbers have shown up back in Cyclone bay. Let the speculation begin. =)
Picture
Hmmm, maybe some kind of Michael Jordan themed coaster?
Picture
26, 25, 24, 23 ... hmmmm.
Picture
For real, this is likely for some pipe work/new concrete, but it's fun to have fun anyway. =)

Kind of old news, but Panda Express is being replaced by Pick Six which is a Six Flags branded chinese food. Too bad they couldn't have moved this up to Samurai Summit.
Picture
And we'll end with a picture of one of the Green Lanterns, because why not. =)
Picture
Thanks again for reading and for all of the incredible support. It's all very much appreciated.
