Today we've got a quick update from Six Flags Magic Mountain where we'll be taking a look at the progress on Justice League. Apocalypse is also still undergoing some major re-tracking that looks to be more extensive than first believed. Written by Gregg Condon As you can see, it was a pretty busy day (this was taken at around 1:00pm). Seriously, if you can get away on a weekday to visit the park the next 4-5 weeks do it. They've finally added some signs to keep people off of the bus route, that they weren't paying attention to. Moving inside the park, they are still working on Justice League (obviously). Most of the work is probably going on inside right now. At least one would hope. Most of the remodeled food locations have opened and look great. Apparently we missed the re-paint of Studio 6F and Gold Rusher's station that took place a couple of months ago. Oops. The new entrance for Tidal Wave is done, going to be interesting how the route the line and if they make one long switch back in the old queue. (still think this is more work than just making some new DC signs, but we aren't in the theme park business) A look at the rest of Metropolis, Apparently Riddlers got pressure-washed last week so painting should be starting soon, if it hasn't already. No work yet on JB's, but new tables are there. Moving on to Apocalypse, the last word we got from the park was they were hoping the ride would reopen on Easter Weekend. Obviously that didn't happen so we're hoping they decided to re-track more of the ride. Originally it was only supposed to be a couple hundred feet of track. It does appear some work is going on here at the final turn around. And it definitely looks like some work has been done to the first turn around and drop. Alright, that's going to wrap it up for this update, we hope you enjoyed. We've been asked a couple of times when Justice League is going to open, we have no clue. At this point our best guess would be sometime in June (probably when we're in Texas for CoasterCon lol). Related Updates: Today we're headed to Six Flags Great America to take a look at the first "preview weekend" and also at Joke construction. While the official park opening for the season isn't until April 29, just like all those Macy's 2 day sales with a preview day, Great America was open last weekend. It's awesome that the weather was so great for the preview. Written by JoAnna Galayda Welcome to a beautiful (and quite crowded) Six Flags Great America Because it was so crowded we just did a lap around the park, enjoyed the beautiful weather and of course checked out Joker progress. Trains are being loaded which means testing should be starting soon. The Joker sign And because RD, and the Whizzer is awesome ... Thanks for reading, now that the park is open we should be having some more updates soon. Related Updates: Today we've got another update from Six Flags Magic Mountain as they continue to work on Justice League for the Spring/Summer opening. We'll also take a look at the Apolcalypse refurbishment to see how that's going. Written by Gregg Condon Justice League, all closed up and definitely being worked on inside. Absolutely LOVING the re-do of the food area. The colors are nice and subtle. Now = Break area. Soon = Beer garden. A look at the area around the ride, still a lot of work to be done.
For some reason they were testing Riddlers Revenge. Doesn't look like any of the re-painting has been done yet. Still not sure what they are doing with Tidal Wave Moving over to Apocalypse, the re-furb continues After our last update we checked with the park and they indicated they were hoping to open up the ride for Easter Weekend Looking at this we'd say that it's not going to open for this weekend, but we can cross our fingers. Nice re-paint of the Screampunk District entry That's about it for this update, now that the park is open for daily operations we'll try and get up for another update soon. Related Updates: |
