Today we've got another update from Six Flags Magic Mountain as they continue to work on Justice League for the Spring/Summer opening. We'll also take a look at the Apolcalypse refurbishment to see how that's going. Written by Gregg Condon Justice League, all closed up and definitely being worked on inside. Absolutely LOVING the re-do of the food area. The colors are nice and subtle. Now = Break area. Soon = Beer garden. A look at the area around the ride, still a lot of work to be done.
For some reason they were testing Riddlers Revenge. Doesn't look like any of the re-painting has been done yet. Still not sure what they are doing with Tidal Wave Moving over to Apocalypse, the re-furb continues After our last update we checked with the park and they indicated they were hoping to open up the ride for Easter Weekend Looking at this we'd say that it's not going to open for this weekend, but we can cross our fingers. Nice re-paint of the Screampunk District entry That's about it for this update, now that the park is open for daily operations we'll try and get up for another update soon. Related Updates: Yesterday was a weird kind of day. What started off as a day of travel quickly turned into a day of not a whole lot of travel, but one where we ended up in Valencia with a couple of hours to kill, so why not stop in at Magic Mountain to see what was doing and to ride a few coasters. And that's just what we did. We'll take a look at what's been going on with Justice League since our tour a couple of weeks ago as well as some pictures and video of the Apocalypse re-do. Written by Gregg Condon Coming soon ... Doesn't look like anything has been done on Riddlers yet But it sure does need a paint job Weird, when we did our tour the building didn't seem that big, but it's REALLY big. Would expect work on all of this to pick up pace in the next few weeks. In fact, we noticed a crane sitting near Riddlers when we rode Batman. They are doing a lot of work on the food area Really like the blue paint here. It's not just the normal "Six Flags Blue" that we've seen all over the place. =) They were doing some work around Tidal Wave, could be for the new entrance but this seems like a REALLY weird spot for it. Let's move on to Apocalypse, where it's getting a very extensive (and much needed) re-track. UPDATE: We confirmed with the park today that they are hoping to re-open Apocalypse on Easter weekend. Hard to tell if anything has been done on this part of the ride Stuff has DEFINITELY been done on this part of the ride. Hi dude up there working!!! It looks like they've started removing stuff from this part of the ride This is as close as we could get, but looks like some of the metal track has been taken out. A couple of random tid-bits ... the tree was removed from outside Gold Rusher awhile ago, some nice plants have been put in it's place. Really shows how much TLC Gold Rusher needs though. Tatsu is back open after getting it's lift hill chain replaced. Which means we're back to hearing Tatsuuuuuu at every ride now. Ugh. Had some lunch at Pick Six and it was good as always. Don't always eat at the park, but this is our go-to these days. They are doing some work in Screampunk, redoing the clock thing we'd guess. The steam on the Steam Engine was really steaming. Smelled like Halloween Fog. Is it time yet? Overall it was a beautiful and blustery day at the park. Remember, the park is open daily from now until Labor Day which means that once the Spring Break period is over the park will be totally empty from about mid-late April until the week of Memorial Day. It's without a doubt the best time of year to experience the park. We'll remind you again when the time is closer. =) Related Updates: Today we've got a great update from the all new Mardi Gras festival at Six Flags Fiesta Texas as part of their kick off of 25 amazing years. The all new parade that's being rolled out to multiple Six Flags Parks this season looks like a lot of fun and isn't to be missed. Written by Mary Revel-DeLeon I had the pleasure of spending the evening at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. They were showcasing Mardi Gras floats, a grand parade, and food fit for Fat Tuesday. The parade was seriously a showcase! The vibe was incredibly New Orleans style. The music brings you there. Every float had a different theme and the music to back it up. It was quite the event and Fiesta Texas brought it to you in New Orleans fashion. We had the pleasure of hanging out with Kaitlin Elliot after the parade and she was a gem. One of the talented people twirling a flag. Had a great time learning about the training and the amazing efforts that go into creating such an amazing event. It is truly incredible. Now for food!!! My favorite part. The food was soooo yummy. I have to admit I had my doubts about them bringing me New Orleans style cuisine ....but they proved me wrong. The po boy sandwiches were on point, especially the fried craw-fish po boy!!! Wow! I actually asked for extra sauce...it was that yummy!!! The muffaletta was so good and served with Voodoo chips that were pretty spectacular. I seriously need these in stock at my local grocery store. I will be going back just to buy these chips!!! The jambalaya was soooo tasty and the gumbo was amazing. They did Cajun food justice, and I was thrilled to try all of it. We all know the rides and eats are great here at Fiesta but everyone needs to come experience this. Truly some great family fun with great drinks and great food. Definitely not lacking in the entertainment area at all. Every character is so fun. If you do drink adult beverages try the Hurricane punch...so tasty!!! Beautiful characters throughout and amazing entertainment. I literally had 46 pairs of beads after the parade finished and didn't have to flash anyone.... but I gave most of them to kids. My kinda Mardi Gras!!! Truly an amazing family event. Look for the adorable Kaitlin twirling her flag. She is so sweet with the kiddos and such a talent to watch along with everyone in the parade. You truly don't want to miss this event. I will be going back with my family and friends to experience every part of it. If you blink you will miss something! So... go and don't blink!
