Rip Roarin’ Falls Will Feature the World’s Tallest Log Flume Drop, First-Ever Super Flume Mega Drop and Next-Generation Family Thrills With 2027 Debut
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – June 8, 2026 – Carowinds is making a massive splash on the state line with the unveiling of Rip Roarin’ Falls, a world-record-breaking super flume ride set to debut in 2027. The new attraction combines the timeless appeal of traditional log flume rides with revolutionary thrills and immersive storytelling for a new generation of families and thrill-seekers.

Rip Roarin’ Falls will be one of the tallest water rides ever constructed and home to the world’s first super flume mega drop at more than 100 feet. It will boast three world records, including the tallest log flume drop, tallest reverse drop and tallest reverse camelback.

“This level of investment and innovation is a true testament of our team’s commitment to bringing legendary attractions and world-class experiences to the Carolinas,” said Bridgette Bywater, Carowinds president. “As a new signature ride, it combines record-setting thrills and cutting-edge ride innovation—all with a 35-inch height requirement that makes it accessible for families. It’s the perfect addition, sure to create lasting memories for generations of guests.”

A First-of-its-Kind Experience – Exclusive to Carowinds

Themed after an abandoned lumber mill, a place rumored to be haunted, guests board an eight-passenger boat and embark on a 6-minute, 30-second whimsical adventure. Two high-speed reversing switches change the direction of the boat twice, sending riders forward and backward through 2,240 feet of surging waters and down two record-setting drops. Rip Roarin’ Falls concludes with a 100-foot plunge, reaching speeds of 50 mph and an iconic splashdown.

As guests complete their journey through the picturesque terrain, they are immersed in the mystery of the mill, encountering surprise after surprise. With a mix of coaster-like drops and water ride splashes, this one-of-a-kind attraction provides riders with a unique experience only available at Carowinds.
Rip Roarin’ Falls Stats:
  • Model: Super Flume
  • World Records:
    1. Tallest Flume Drop (100ft)
    2. Tallest Reverse Drop (42ft)
    3. Tallest Reverse Camelback (32ft)
  • Top Speed: 50 mph
  • Elevation: 100+ ft
  • Length: 2,240ft
  • Duration: 6.5 minutes
  • Height Requirement: ’35 inches with parent/ ’42 inches unaccompanied
  • Manufacturer: WhiteWater

Construction is currently underway. Rip Roarin’ Falls will be located on the former site of Rip Roarin’ Rapids, a water ride retired in 2019. The ride’s loading station, specially designed to increase rider capacity and reduce wait times, is accessible through the Thrill Zone section of the park near Fury 325. The minimum height requirement is 35 inches when accompanied by a guest 16 years or older and 41 inches when unaccompanied.

Carowinds has experienced significant growth in recent years, adding more than 20 rides and attractions since 2015 alongside major expansions to Carolina Harbor Waterpark and the park’s family area, Camp Snoopy. Rip Roarin’ Falls continues this wave of investment, joining Fury 325, Copperhead Strike and Snoopy’s Racing Railway as signature attractions that have redefined the park’s lineup.

Carowinds Launches New Season Membership Program

To celebrate the historic announcement of Rip Roarin’ Falls, Carowinds announced a new Membership program, providing guests with a new way to save on admission and enjoy unlimited visits to the park. Currently available at $8 a month, a Carowinds Membership includes admission to Carowinds and Carolina Harbor Waterpark for the remainder of 2026, plus 2027 for the debut of Rip Roarin’ Falls.

In addition to unlimited visits and access to seasonal events like SCarowinds and WinterFest, Gold Memberships include admission to six additional east regional Six Flags parks, including Kings Dominion near Richmond, Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water near Atlanta, Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, Dorney Park in Pennsylvania and Six Flags New England, making weekend getaways and road trips even more rewarding. This program offers year-round, multi-park access at a low monthly rate alongside traditional Passholder benefits such as free parking, park discounts and exclusive perks.

“Our new membership program is another reason why Carowinds remains one of the most valuable entertainment options in the Carolinas. We provide affordable access to fun, and with the debut of Rip Roarin’ Falls, guests will be treated to unlimited splash downs and record-breaking drops all season,” said Bywater.

LOS ANGELES – June 6, 2026 – Six Flags Magic Mountain is excited to announce that  Looney Tunes™ Land, a uniquely themed area with loveable characters, is now open. The refreshed family-friendly area has been reimagined where the timeless fun of Looney Tunes™ comes to life. Developed in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and designed for young adventurers and families alike, Looney Tunes Land brings together colorful environments, playful attractions, and beloved characters for an all-new family experience filled with laughter, imagination and discovery. From scenic train rides and whimsical balloon adventures to interactive trails and camp-inspired fun, every corner of the land invites guests to explore the wacky worlds of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Taz, Road Runner and more.

“Looney Tunes Land blends Warner Bros.’ timeless cartoon storytelling with the energy, humor and adventure that generations have loved for decades in a vibrant new experience,” said Brian Oerding, park president of Six Flags Magic Mountain. “The introduction of Looney Tunes Land coincides with the park’s 55th anniversary and is the second project in a multi-year renaissance, which kicked off with the complete refurbishment of Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles last year and an exciting coaster on the horizon next year offering thrills for everyone.”
TAZ-MANIA
Welcome to TAZ-mania! Guests may immerse themselves in a vibrant tropical landscape where the chaotic Taz has clearly left his mark. The highlight of this area is Taz’s Tasmanian Train Tours. Explorers board the Tasmanian Express for a colorful and lively tour through the island’s wilderness. Be warned, the mischievous Tasmanian Devil himself has escaped his enclosure and is set to wreak havoc along the way. Meanwhile, Taz’s Exploration Trail will feature an augmented reality treasure hunt coming soon.
ROAD RUNNER RIDGE
In the New Mexico-inspired area, Wile E. Coyote embarks across the breathtaking badlands on his relentless quest to capture the elusive Road Runner. Guests can take their turn trying to outrun Wile E. Coyote on the Road Runner Express coaster that rambles through trails of desert landscaping along a 679-foot track. Of course, everyone will need to keep an eye out for ACME traps cleverly hidden among the captivating rock formations and desert terrain. Guests are further transported into Wile E. Coyote’s world with the iconic painted tunnel.

BUGS BUNNY PLAY PARK
Bugs Bunny Play Park is dedicated to the charismatic character that unites everyone and is focused on frolicking fun. A fan favorite, Merrie Melodies Merrie-Go-Round sends guests round and round on a bright and beautiful carousel scaled down in size especially for little hands and feet. Other attractions include Sylvester’s Pounce & Bounce, a playful adventure-filled ride to the top of a 20-foot tower where Tweety causes chaos before riders bounce down in a wobbly, jiggly, giggly frenzy. Or, guests can decide how to soar whether a hot air balloon ride in a colorful basket on Looney Ballooneys or a propeller plane on Funny Flyers. Of course, don’t miss the all-new show Vacation Mayhem in The Bugs Bunny Amphitheater starring Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and others. Coming soon is Wise Acres, a thematic free play and exploration zone with crawling tunnels, a tree structure to climb and more.
CAMP DUCK AMUCK
It is never duck season in Daffy Duck’s territory! In the new and scenic High Sierra-inspired zone Daffy calls the shots. Join his patrol and hit the road for a four-wheelin’ jeep adventure through the great outdoors on Daffy’s Forest Four-Wheelers. Along the trail, fun and humorous character scenes, alongside informative signage, emphasize the importance of conservation and safety while enjoying nature. Further fun is to be found in the High Sierra mountains on the unforgettable and wacky Camp Bus, the starter coaster Canyon Cruiser or in Camp Duck Amuck Fun Fort where guests can climb, crawl and slide through a towering maze of crazy obstacles and adventures.

The Great American Revolution Turns 50 and Magic Mountain Park Update - May 11, 2026

Picture
Last Friday we were invited out to Six Flags Magic Mountain to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Great American Revolution or Revolution or New Revolution or Classic Revolution.

Whatever name you want to use, the legacy of this amazing coaster cannot be denied. At 50 years old it's still one of the best coasters in the park in our opinion.

In this update we've got some amazing videos for you to check out including an all new POV, reverse POV and a fantastic 8-minute video detailing the history of this historical coaster.

Below the videos we've got lots of pictures from Revolution and elsewhere around the park. We are starting to see some movement on the 2027 project and a lot of cosmetic upgrades around the park, which we are just as excited for.

Hope you enjoy the update! Share your Revolution memories in the comments!!
