Last night we were invited up to Six Flags Magic Mountain to get a glimpse at what is in store for Fright Fest 2014.
Over the past few years the event has steadily improved but still had some mazes that made it hard to really draw comparisons to the two other major theme park haunts in Southern California.
Based on what we saw last night, it's time to start making those comparisons.

The event was held in the Magic Moments Theater

Monsters were on hand to give us all a fright

Once inside, they had a stage set up for the gathered online media and fans

Returning mazes ... the good ones!! No more Tidal Wave line or games warehouse maze.

New maze #1. In 3D!!

Wasn't really announced as a "maze" but upon talking to Neal later in the evening he kind of hinted that this really was the 4th maze and will be where Black Widow used to be.

Vault 666, where they keep all the scary stuff. More on this in a bit.

Last new maze, Red's Revenge which will be the largest indoor maze in Fright Fest history and have the largest set pieces. Red Riding hood finally gets her revenge. Super excited for this one!!

After the announcement we were invited over to take a tour of Vault 666 which is located behind the Full Throttle store. So THAT is what they've been doing with the back-half of the old arcade. =)

As you can see, there are no "Black Walls" in the maze, something they've consciously tried to get away from.
